Italy’s best kept secret, the region of Abruzzo became a byword for blogging brilliance, thanks to its first food, wine and travel blogger event, LetsBlogAbruzzo organised by blogAway.

This weekend conference took place in the famous Medici hilltop town of Santo Stefano di Sessanio between 31st May & 2nd June, offering  something for bloggers of all levels and ages.

22 International Bloggers, 9 International Speakers

The event attracted 22  local and international bloggers, antipodes, age and ability proving no barrier: whether for a 70 year old b&b owner from California, a campsite entrepreneur from the UK, an Australian writer from Adelaide, a Chef from New Zealand or a villa owner from Tuscany.

The Real Italia photography contest  to win a free  #letsblogabruzzo Weekend Pass was won by a New Yorker who flew over especially for the event.  The reach extended to 444 unique voters on the 33 entries.

Conducted in English and covering a wide range of the core skills required to be a truly successful blogger,  the 9 workshops were led by 9 international speakers and specialists in their fields including David Willey, the BBC Veteran Rome Correspondent leading a warm up session on citizen journalism, Katie Parla the food journalist chairing a debate to open the event exploring Abruzzo’s award winning wines.
